In 2023, we received an unusual inquiry from a client reporting a significant challenge: during their drilling operations, they had encountered a unique rock formation that resulted in shale shaker screen clogging. The cost of their screens had nearly doubled compared to standard usage due to rapid fouling and difficulties in cleaning, exacerbated by the high density of the drilling mud.
Leveraging our extensive experience in solid control solutions, we conducted a preliminary analysis which indicated that the conventional screen setup was insufficient under such conditions. We promptly arranged an on-site visit to their facility in Sichuan. Our engineers performed a thorough field assessment and validated our proposed approach—to enhance the support thickness of the primary vibrating screen and implement a multi-stage screening process.
This modification significantly improved screen durability and cleaning efficiency, effectively resolving the clogging issue and reducing operational costs. The client reported excellent performance thereafter, confirming the success of the tailored solution.
